The Tunnel of Time, by Damian Gherbali
Yesterday evening I tried to make my parents qo out shopping with me but they were tired and I was told to be patient.
Very disappointed I went to the bed and then, I don’t know how, in the morning. I heard the alarm clock ringing at five a.m. and I saw myself in the mirror in my parents’ room. But this was not me, it was my father! A part of me kept wondering how this could happen while the other one was in a hurry to leave for the office.
“I should write my wife a note!” I thought .
“Damian really wants us go shopping together!”
And the loveliest thought of love and joy came to my heart. I opened the door from Damian’s room and I saw him sleeping. I was the father and the boy in the same time!
A part of me thought it was impossible, it was a nightmare! But the other part of me said to myself:” Have a nice day today, my boy!”I went to my job by car- finally I could drive!I worked all day and I went home very tired.After I opened the front door, I took off my shoes, wondering how big they were.I felt so tired!And then my boy came laughing and running and shouting: “We are going shopping, Dad!”And he hugged me for a second.
A part of me was still tired whereas the other part of me wanted to keep him in my heart forever.I wanted to follow him to the kitchen, but the hall became longer and darker, I heard him, but I could not see him any more.And I saw my old self as a child again, in my room. I wasn’t so tired and I could sleep and play without worries.I understood my parents so well now!
So I hugged my mother and, to his great surprise, I called my father with the part of me that now knew what a good place I had in my world:
“Have a nice day today, father!”

Premiul a constat intr-un voucher de reducere in valoare de 200 de lire pentru o tabara de limba engleza de 2 saptamani in Anglia oferit de Mirunette International Education, carti de la Fischer International si de la Carturesti si materiale promotionale de la Vitastal Consulting. Il felicitam pe Damian pentru eseul lui care s-a evidentiat din alte mii de eseuri trimise la concursul national de creatie in limba engleza organizat de Shakespeare School si ii uram mult succes in continuare!
