“Rise and shine! Sleepy head!!”said mum as she used to,every day.
“Great!Another perfect day wasted on school!!”
“School is important!!”
“Really?Then how came you didn”t go to college??”
“I had you! And I don”t want you to repeat my mistake!”
“So now I”m a mistake?”
“No,you are my fantastic son,lazy pupil and super skateboard guru!”
“You know mum,if you like school so much why don”t we switch places at least today.I”d rather sell bread than listen to my boring teachers!”
“Stop talking nonsense and be careful with your skateboard!Bye!!”
Mum and her stupid worries!…Where is a good fairy when you need one???
Here I am!! Your wish is my command!!
The fairy touched my shoulder with her magic wand and…suddenly I was..mum!! I had customers waiting to be served and the oven needed to be filled with cookies to be baked and I had bills to sign and shelves to stuck up with merchandise and it wasn”t fun.My legs hurt and..I felt more miserable than at school!!And the scary thought that my mum had been turned into me made my day unbearable!!
At school “mum-me”was enjoying the Maths class,amazing the poor teacher with unexpectedly good answers!She was also brilliant at English where the teacher asked her if she wasn”tor something!??!
After school when it was time for skateboard mum wasn”t so brilliant anymore.She broke her leg in a clumsy jump just to prove to “my” friends that she can be just as good at sports as she had been at school!
When I was called by the hospital to be informed about my “boy”-mum”s injury I thought I”d faint…
We both found out how hard it is to be in somebody else”s shoes!!! I learnt that being a single mum is a headache!! That I should respect my mum”s job more and I”d try to be more responsible in my wishes and decisions and even with great effort care more about school than I cared for my skateboard!
