Although my mother isn’t a pop star (as far as I know, she hasn’t released an album this month) and she doesn’t have a yoga coach, she is full of energy. I think her secrets are the hair spread plate, her cold cream and the make-ups – things totally forbidden to me.
Who am I? A girl with curly hair. Of course, the hair spread plate could solve this problem, but how can I reach the forbidden thing? If only I were my mother … What a wonderful thought.
The clock is ringing. It is 6.30! I only wake up at 7.30. Suddenly, I have a headache and an appetite for coffee…But I don’t like coffee!
I go to the mirror and I yell because I see some lines on my face. I am my mom, my wish came true! Oh, my God, what can I do?
I start by taking my daughter to school; then I reach the office on some impossible high-heeled shoes. I don’t want them anymore.
At the office: a lot of papers, mails, phones, problems.
The telephone is ringing. My child has got a fever. TODAY of all the days! I go home and other activities are waiting me. I must cook, do the vacuuming and wash the dishes. Sure I’ll do them well because I’ve helped mum so many times. I will do them at the same time, to finish early.
Not to get bored, I start to hum a song: “Old McDonald had a farm…”
But I have an uninvited guest: a dense cloud is coming from the kitchen. I open the door and … the food is burnt and the room is a swimming pool.
I want to say “MOTHER!!!”, but I am the mum.
Now I realize that I didn’t have time not even for the hair spread plate or for the cold creams. All I want is for the day to finish early, to become ME, with my friends, my sneakers and with my spare time.
After today, my curly hair will be curly for a long time!
