The lost diary- by Paula Valentina Dozsa, School nr. 88, Bucharest
Yesterday I visited the park, searching for my lost diary. I sat down on a bench, feeling discouraged and tired. I shut my eyes for a moment.
Suddenly I found myself in a room filled with bookcases. Sitting there was a girl holding my very own diary. She looked rather familiar.
“You must be Candice. I’m Meggie. And this must be yours,” said the girl, handing me my diary.
Then I realized that she was the main character in the “Inkheart” trilogy by Cornelia Funke. She had the magical ability to read characters out of books and enter their fascinating worlds. Meggie was surprised that I knew all about her adventures.
“Let’s go somewhere, then!” said Meggie with a playful sparkle in her eyes.
I found a copy of “The lord of the rings” by J.R.R. Tolkien and handed it to her. Meggie took me by the hand, started reading and we appeared in the lush green gardens of the Shire. The hobbits knew Meggie and happily invited us to their magnificent party. There were games, music, food, drink and superb fireworks.
Afterwards we visited “Eragon’s” world, created by Christopher Paolini. Eragon let me ride his dragon, Saphira, whose blue scales seemed to glitter in the sun. Gliding over the picturesque mountains and valleys was breathtaking.
When we arrived back home, I hugged Meggie and thanked her for the wonderful and unforgettable day. Meggie showed me the two books we had visited. I looked inside “The lord of the rings” and gasped, seeing a picture of us at the party. “Eragon” had a picture of me flying on Saphira, my hair blowing in the wind.
“Don’t worry, only these copies have changed,” laughed Meggie.
I smiled, blinked and found myself back in the park, holding my diary.
