We are back this week with new suggestions of activities to make you writing classes more fun!
It is time to show your students that writing involves and trains creativity. Prove them wrong if they think that writing assignments are boring by providing the class with a more fun context in which to work!
Activity 1: Two Statements and One Question
Start from 2 statements and one question all related, that are on the board. They will have to expand what they see into 3 paragraphs that cannot contain any of the words on the board.
Activity 2: Write a Wikipedia Entry with your Students.
For advanced high-school students (the CAE, FCE levels) this activity could be run in different stages such as research, writing, proofreading where students can come together as a group to contribute! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions
Start from a ready set faulty Wikipedia entry split in 4 groups each with key words to include and rewrite the whole text.
For gymnasium students, write about the daily life and routine of a famous person from the perspective of a maid, stalker, personal assistant, etc.
We also have the pleasure to invite to a FREE WORKSHOP on writing, here at Shakespeare School.
‘How to make Essay Writing fun’ will take place on the 12th December. If you are interested you can register by sending an email to office@asociatiapentrueducatie.ro.
And don’t forget, participating in our Essay Competition can take you all way to the UK! So, students sharpen your pencils and start writing, because you English teachers are here to guide you!
