It”s so different! – by Mihai Cucu, 14 years old, student at School no.5, Brasov
Where am I traveling accompanied only by a pretty but formal air hostess? I”m fourteen, I left my mother at the airport with tears in her eyes and my dad speechless when he hugged me. I”ve no idea about the place where I will spend two weeks of my life. I only know that it”s a college which revealed itself in my magic, clear and bright crystal ball.
It has a strange but such a melodious name: “Leahcim Tnias”.
The only thing I”m taking with me is both useful and friendly: a thin but secure walking – stick I can rely on whenever I feel uncertain or need to overcome obstacles.
Days have passed by so quickly! I”m back! I”m looking out of my always half opened window and there, blueprinted on the merely clouded sky, I can see it: “Leahcim Tnias”, the destination with unusual sonority, the perfect world which proves that dreams can become true.
It doesn”t take much to put together the place where you would like to live once. All you need is an incredible environment, a large lawn with a mysterious Victorian style building right in the middle of it and lots of playgrounds. You cannot do without a loving family to protect and teach you the importance of genuine values. Lots of fun and interesting classes which seem to take you on a merry – go – round which doesn”t make you dizzy but serious, informed and responsible.
It is there that you can become aware of the importance of being kind, truthful, hardworking, creative and persevering because nobody could even think of being different.
It is there that you are not pushed but encouraged to become the best and this is the most precious value which I”ve taken back home with me.
I”ve never realized how much the experience in “Leahcim Tnias” has changed me. But now looking into the mirror I can no longer see the humble, shy and weak kitten I used to be but a proud, strong and reliable lion ready to become a king.
Acest eseu este castigatorul premiului special in cadrul 2011 Shakespeare School Essay Competition, grupa de varsta 11-14 ani, avand ca tema o descriere a unei lumi perfecte pornind de la 4 imagini sugestive. Premiul a constat intr-un cadou surpriza din partea librariei Carturesti, o carte in limba engleza din seria penguin, de la Fischer International, voucher de reducere 25% la un curs de vara de limba engleza la Shakespeare School, discount card oferit de Puma, cadou din partea Reprezentantei Comisiei Europene in Romania. Dorim sa il felicitam pe Mihai pentru faptul ca s-a evidentiat din peste 5100 de eseuri trimise la concursul national de creatie in limba engleza organizat de Shakespeare School si ii uram mult succes in continuare!
